TD Ameritrade
Challenge
Ameritrade had recently merged with TD Waterhouse to form TD Ameritrade. One of many business goals was to combine the best of both user experiences while mitigating the risk of alienating the needs of two unique customers - active traders and long-term investors. As a senior member of the client experience group, David provided strategic design solutions for marketing and trading products related to options, equities, and market research tools.
Solution
After careful analysis, intense iterative design cycles and continuous user testing, TD Ameritrade rolled out an experience that redefined the brand and addressed customer needs - improved navigation, contextual messaging, custom and personal data views, and enhanced help and support.
Results
The design team and business owner's committed to new and innovative thinking -- user research, iterative design cycles, customer feedback analysis, etc. The return on their investment resulted in increased client satisfaction and industry leadership - Barron's awarded it the #1 Web-Based Online Broker (3/5/07) based on trade experience.

Yokel
Challenge
Some things you just would not buy online. How do you purchase a 52" plasma without seeing the picture first? How do you find that product in a store near you? Yokel created a technology that searches the web for stores and the products they carry. Radiant UX was asked to evolve a rough prototype into a brand experience that seperates Yokel from the competition.
Solution
After identifying the key personas and scenarios, we created an experience that was smart, straight-forward and simple. This approach ensured the product satisfied the user's needs as it entered the local search market.
Results
Yokel was put to the test against it's competitors and ranked #1 by LA news channel 5 (KTLA) based on "Smart design" and the fact that it is "Very easy to use". We continue to evolve the experience. Recent changes to the homepage resulted in increased traffic to the search results. People on the go have found Yokel to be a very usable experience on their mobile devices.

A&E IndieFilms
Challenge
A&E and Reset Media Partners needed a website to support an amazing new film during it's world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. American Teen offers a narrative like nothing we've seen since John Hughes' Breakfast Club.
Solution
Radiant UX captured the characters, beyond their familiar highschool stereotypes - the rebel, the jock, the geek, and the popular girl, in a way that introduces the teens about to embark on the journey into adulthood. With audio soundtrack and cinematic transitions the site draws you into the life of each person and leaves you wanting more.
