Yokel Some things you just would not buy online. How do you purchase a 52" plasma television without seeing the picture first? How do you find it in a store near you? Challenge
Initially, Radiant UX was asked to evolve a rough prototype into a brand experience that separates Yokel from other search products. In an ongoing relationship, Radiant UX was later asked to improve the Merchant Center’s conversion rates, unify and update interfaces, and provide online business strategy and recommendations for geo-based and commerce search.
Solution

After identifying the key design personas and usage scenarios, Radiant UX created an experience that was familiar, informing, straightforward and most importantly simple in form and function. This approach ensured that consumers found the desired products in an organized, clear and informative manner, allowing them to confidently pursue the product in their local store.
"92.5% of adults said they regularly or occasionally research products online before buying them in a store."

As Yokel grew, they needed to emphasize the Merchant Store service on the homepage, simplify the Merchant sign-up process and create an overall balance between the product search service and the storefront service they offered. Radiant UX continually supported Yokel, redesigning various aspects of search results to reflect new business goals and opportunities, emphasizing the full spectrum of services and increase Merchant conversion rates.
Results
Yokel was put to the test against it's competitors and ranked #1 by LA News Channel 5 (KTLA) based on "smart design" and the fact that it is "very easy to use." Radiant UX continues to refine and evolve Yokel’s merchant and consumer experience to meet the needs of demanding users. Most recently, subtle changes to the homepage resulted in increased traffic to search results. Local shoppers on-the-go have found Yokel to be a very usable experience on their mobile devices (phone, PDAs, etc.) due to the clarity and simplicity of Yokel’s search experience. This was a bonus as the design was not intentionally designed and developed for a particular mobile device. The recognition has helped Yokel discover potential opportunities in the mobile space
